About Us
Nellie Creek Camp is an outdoor, educational day camp, focused on reconnecting our youth with the natural world.
Located on 25 acres of forested land in Corbett, OR, Nellie Creek is the perfect place for kids to unplug from their devices, fully immerse themselves in the outdoors and connect with one another. Through a wide variety of fun and engaging activities, campers will have the opportunity to take part in a truly special, outdoor camp experience. Whether it’s exploring the various forest trails, milking a goat, playing games in the meadow, rock climbing, making art, or taking part in one of the numerous other activities at Nellie Creek, we hope to continue to provide a space that is safe, fun and inspiring!
How It All Began
Nellie Creek Camp was founded in 2006 by kindergarten teacher Jennifer Corbin who wanted to provide a space for her students to stay connected during the summertime, while enjoying the beautiful area that makes Nellie Creek so special. After 6 years in operation, the camp closed its doors as Jen transitioned into retirement.
One of Jen´s campers, Chris Fruehauf, whose family has owned and managed the property since the late 90s, reopened Nellie Creek´s doors in 2018. Remembering how impactful the camp had been when growing up, Chris has been continuing Jen´s legacy and mission to provide a fun, safe, and enriching space for youth to connect and deepen their relationship with eachother and the natural world.
