Activities

Hiking & Plant Identification
Nellie Creek is home to a wide array of plants and fungi. During our daily nature hikes, campers have the opportunity to expand their knowledge around these native allies, learning their names as well as any useful applications they may have for food, art or medicine. They will also learn which species are toxic and should stay clear from.
Pizza
Making
Station
Snack preparation and pizza making are a few activities that may interest campers who enjoy cooking. Learning the ins-and-outs of a woodfired oven and food safety practices are also some topics that will be covered with those who gravitate towards the kitchen space.
Arts & Crafts
Whether it’s doodling or painting at the art station, designing one’s camp necklace, working on a group collage or making nature crafts with materials found nearby, camper’s will have ample opportunities to get creative and let their imaginations run wild!
Swimming
The later half of the day is when campers have the option to cool off in the ponds or take part in other shady, free-time activities. For those who love the water, swimming, kayaking and rafting are all available options.
At the start of the week, campers are grouped by age to collaborate on a group project. This allows campers the opportunity to bond with others their age, spending a little time together each morning while working on something creative together. From collaborative art projects and entertaining skits to original songs and outdoor shelters, every team invests their unique talents into their weekly group projects. On the last day of each week, groups showcase their collective work. Above is a glimpse of last season's group, who were finalists in the shelter-building contest.
